Bring photo ID. • Zoom interview date to be announced. • In-person interview date to be announced. • Testing location: Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Training Room, 1201 S Spring St, Port Washington, WI 53074. • No late admittance allowed. There are no alternate test dates. Approximate test length is 2 hours. Cell phones must be on silent. Beverages allowed. • Top scoring candidates will be invited to interview for immediate opening and hiring list.

Responsibilities:
• The Deputy Sheriff – Patrol performs general law enforcement patrol duties to include but not limited to: response to incidents, traffic control, routine patrol, investigation of crimes, and related activities. This is a generalist position that emphasizes the application of modern law enforcement methods and general law enforcement duties. This individual will exercise a good deal of discretion and independence while performing a variety of law enforcement duties and tasks. LATERAL TRANSFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED

Qualifications:
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Minimum Age:

- Ability and willingness to assume responsibility
- General knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, methods, and practices
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and follow through on an appropriate course of action
- Demonstrate initiative
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, other law enforcement officials, and the public
- Ability to obtain and retain certification as a “law enforcement officer” by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board if not already certified
