Responsibilities:
Dispatches Police and Fire for the City of Monroe. Answers all phone lines for the PD, plus 911 for the City of Monroe numbers. Uses computer aided dispatch software, records management software. Enters all department records. Takes complaints by phone, or at counter. Uses radio, computers. First line of contact for the agency. Ability to multi-task. Ability to de-escalate people in stressful situations on phone or in person. Good customer service and public relations skills. Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, shifts.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Applicants with 1 year of LE dispatch experience can start at 1 year rate/vacation level, those with 2 or more years of LE dispatch experience can start at the 2 year rate/vacation level.
