Reason for Announcement:
Responsibilities:
Performs general law enforcement duties contributing to the prevention, suppression and detection of crime, protection of citizen's rights, welfare and property, and enforcement of ordinances and laws within the City of Waukesha and/or work with other law enforcement agencies and city departments.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Lateral transfers accepted per the Waukesha Professional Police Association (WPPA Labor Agreement (Article 20.01(B)) recognizes a new employee's years of full time sworn law enforcement service prior to their hiring date. Any sworn officer hired to the rank of police officer may receive a starting annual salary and vacation multiplier commensurate with their years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer provided that they are certifiable by Wisconsin's Law Enforcement Standards Board. Future pay increases will be made according to their hiring date with the Waukesha Police Department and shall conform to this agreement. Sworn officers hired as a police officer under this Section will begin to earn seniority rights and privileges on the date of hire with the Waukesha Police Department.

- Ability to perform essential functions of this position

- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
