Position Responsibilities

A Deputy Sheriff is assigned to field duty which consists of both routine and complex law enforcement responsibilities. General job functions include Reporting and Documentation, Preservation of Safety, and Peace and Security. The employee normally works independently which necessitates a high degree of self-discipline, integrity and decision-making ability. In addition to skills, knowledge and abilities natural to the police functions, there are specialized positions requiring other skills. These positions consist of identification, warrant or civil process, investigations, communications, juvenile, community service, property management and training.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Lateral Entry LEO"s may be extended vacation benefits which commensurate with their prior full-time sworn law enforcement experience up to 10 years of service.
