General Police Officer Duties

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

The Village of Pleasant Prairie accepts lateral transfers from qualified law enforcement officers from municipal, county and state law enforcement agencies. Corrections, reserve officer, security officer, and federal officer experience does not fulfill the requirement for certified police experience as a lateral applicant. Officers may be hired under the lateral transfer agreement at the discretion of the Chief of Police and the Village of Pleasant Prairie. Out-of-state applicants will be required to have passed a Reciprocity Equivalency exam administered by the State of Wisconsin and be certifiable according to those standards by date of appointment.
