Position Responsibilities

Chippewa County is currently seeking candidates for a Male Jailer position within the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department. This position is responsible for supervising inmates of the Chippewa County Jail while assuring a safe, secure, and sanitary environment. Qualified candidates will have the ability to manage, direct and command people in a respectful and effective manner as well as a demonstrated history of being able to think and act quickly, accurately and calmly under time constraints and in difficult or emergency situations.

  • If not currently certified, the 200-hour basic Jail Officers Certification must be obtained within one year of hire (tuition and wages while attending the school are paid by Chippewa County).
