General patrol functions include patrol, investigation of complaints, assists to the public, maintaining order, responding to calls for service; enforcement of State Criminal and Traffic Laws and Local Ordinances; and solving problems of the community.

  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20

60 college credits / Associate's degree
Additional Education Information
Applicant must submit proof of being certifiable or certified by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board or currently enrolled in the Academy.
