Responsibilities:
Burnett County is accepting applications for a Full-Time Corrections/Communications Deputy with the Sheriff’s Department. The Corrections/Communications Deputy performs a wide variety of duties connected with the operation of the Jail and the 911 communication center. Individuals in this position monitor and provide supervision of inmates and housing units, hold inmates accountable for actions, and maintain logs and records. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Booking, fingerprinting, photographing and releasing inmates; arranging for inmate health needs; transporting inmates to other facilities or appointments; maintaining operations on the countywide emergency communication system, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification and a valid driver’s license. Experience in corrections, law enforcement, or security is preferred, and additional training in corrections science, criminal justice, or related field may be helpful. Successful candidates will undergo an extensive background analysis. Must be 18 years of age or older.
